I recently came across this quote on Instagram.

“Rejection is protection”.

I started thinking about how similar this is to the importance of embracing failure.

The idea is, that when we don’t get what we want, it’s likely because we shouldn’t be getting it.

That “no”, is protecting you from what isn’t going to serve you.

We’ve all experienced rejection at some point in our lives. A job we didn’t get, a relationship that didn’t work out, or a goal we didn’t achieve.

Rejection just downright sucks, right?

But what if we viewed rejection differently?

What if we saw it not as a negative, but as protection?

Sometimes when we are told “no,” it’s the universe’s way of steering us toward something better suited for us. That job we were passed over for wasn’t right for our skill set.

That relationship wouldn’t have brought out the best in us.

That goal we didn’t accomplish would have taken us down the wrong path.

Rejection shields us from wasting time on people and situations that aren’t meant for us. It saves us from making mistakes and guides us toward our true purpose.

Each “no” brings us one step closer to the “yes” we are meant to receive.

So the next time rejection comes your way, remember that while it may hurt at that moment, it’s likely saving you from something that would hurt much worse down the road.
